Our Heritage
The story begins three generations ago, 1927 in Russia. Hard times, both economically and spiritually, were prophesied simultaneously to various groups of believers. Instructed by God to pick up their stakes, sell all, and flee to safety.
Our grandparents, out of sheer obedience to the Lord fled Eastward. They journeyed for six years; by train, truck and much of the way by foot. After many miracles and experiences, they finally reached the Russia / China border.
By the direction of the Holy Spirit, different groups of believers, miraculously crossed the border and settled in the Northern part of Xinjiang, China. Here in China, their faith grew and God moulded and formed them for His future purposes. In Kuldja, China a large Evangelical church was established. Kuldja, China became a transitional point from where God would lead believers to their promised land (of milk and honey and freedom) to Australia, United States and Canada.

Birth of a Vision
In 1978, we had an opportunity to go to Russia for the first time. Ministry to Russia during the 70's was very difficult. Our group of 35, traveled from Germany to Russia by bus. The aim was to be an encouragement to the Believers behind the "Iron Curtain." It took 23 hours just to pass through the passport control in order to enter Russia. During the early trips, the KGB officers would accuse our leaders of causing disturbances and would haul them away for interrogations. "The more they interrogated us, the more God would ignite our hearts to minister!" During those early years of ministry behind the Iron Curtain, God allowed us to establish many friendships and relationships that have lasted to this day!
Ministry Born
God used the experiences and testimonies of our parents of Russia and their exodus to the Western world to more than intrigue us of our origin. We truly believe that He has called us out, and saved us as a remnant, to return with spiritual food and composite aid to those who remain in bondage.
As a result, God has allowed us to make many trips to the former Soviet Union. He has opened our eyes to the increasing spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the people in that vast country.
New Manna Ministries was established in 1981 as a non-profit organization. We were a group of 15 young adults who had a desire to reach the country of our grandparents. Our desire was to break through the Iron Curtain by going over it with the Power of the Word and the music of Praise and Worship!
Today God has opened to us the doors of ministry to People in Need. Helping first those in the Household of Faith, the Fatherless, Widows, Street-kids and the Needy.
